Halloween

We had a fun filled week!

Monday was Breast Cancer Awareness Day and I failed to get a picture of all those cuties in pink!  Tuesday was Disney/Pixar/Superhero Day and I missed it due to a sick little girl at home :(  But I was back and ready on Wednesday for Nerd Day...

Thursday was Costume Day and Halloween.  We celebrated with a Fall Party and had an absolute BLAST!  Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to help or send in a tasty treat.

On Friday, we finished out the week working in Halloween themed centers.

We also finished our book of the week activity.  We read The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything.  We learned about onomatopoeia - words that make sound, such as wiggle, shake, clomp and BOO!  We also focused on the main idea, our reading skill for the week.  We put together a scarecrow like the one from the story.

At the end of the day, our Star Student, Gabriel, read everyone his favorite book.  He was lucky to have an assistant too (Cole) that turned the pages while he read.  He did a GREAT job!

We are celebrating Elizabeth as our new Star Student this week!  Elizabeth loves to tell stories and is always happy!  I can always rely on her to put a smile on my face.  She will not be here this week however because she is going to Disney with her family!!!  But we will be sure to recognize her when she gets back!
